Bierbar Am Thor - Dresden

After spending a lovely afternoon listening to a chorus from England (The Queen's Six) on the same street, I found I was hungry for some good German schnitzel and ein grosse bier. So I ambled along the street looking for a suitable German beirbar and...restaurant and had the misfortune of walking up to this particular restaurant at the Hospitalstraße. From the moment I walked into the bar area past many diners sitting outside on this particularly lovely afternoon, I found myself the object of mockery and derision. If you happen to stay nearby this little brasserie, then I would recommend it. Staff went out of their way to be hospitable and helpful, taking the time to explain German dishes to us. Food is very nice and not expensive, I.e. not a tourist...trap. It has a warn a genuine atmosphere. Ideal for a quick meal or drink.

James ordered a pork dish with very nice potatoes. He wiped his dinner plate clean. I had the Saxony roast beef with dumplings and pickled red cabbage. Two large beers each. We also had soup which was awesome. Nice people work here too. Will definitely...eat here again the next time I am in Dresden.

Were dinner here and would be very friendly and also served immediately.Essen (scarving with spatula) was plentiful and very tasty. Price-performance very good.Come again at our next visit in dresden.
