Roost - Dover

Really frustrated that when we ordered our food we were told 20 minutes and they even called us back to confirm our order and we asked if they needed more time and they said no. Then waited for our food an additional 25 minutes at the restaurant, which would be okay but when we got our food it didn?t come with the bread advertised, nor did they include salad dressing for my salad, neither of which they mentioned when we received our food. (We found out after we came home) We went back for the salad dressing only to be told they were out? Why would you let me order a salad if you were out of dressing? (And of course we were out of dressing at our house, so now I have plain leaves for dinner). Normally better service here but so much lack of communication was really not cool. Food was also somehow cold when we got it after waiting nearly an hour. I understand being busy, or out of food but you need to communicate expectations up front and not act like it?s fine to not include what was advertised. Please take more time to talk to your customers.

The food was nothing special. My meatloaf was room temperature and all portions were small. The atmosphere and service was good.

We love going to Roost, the food and the atmosphere never disappoint. Great for kids too. Save room for dessert!

We went to Roost last night for dinner. The food was excellent. We did bring our kids but ate right at 5 as we expected it to be quiet so not to interrupt other diners in case our boys 8 and 11 got chatty. Our waitress was very nice and quick! There is no kids menu we knew before we went as I always look online) but our kids prefer adult plates anyways. We had the Brie appetizer which honestly the star was the ?toast? it was so good!!! The Shrimp tempura was crispy and with the right amount of heat. The chicken reminded me of my favorite restaurant in Manchester Cotton) but this was superior. The braised short ribs looked small but I could only finish one !!! My son loved the Salmon and it was cooked perfectly.
