Harbour Lights At The Sefton - Douglas

We started with coffee and tea, and the setting was beautiful. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the staff impressed us with their knowledge, efficiency, and friendliness. We had also made a dinner reservation for later in the evening. Upon our return at 8:00, we were seated immediately. I ordered a liver dish while my companion chose a fish cake, both of which were quite different from what we had tried earlier. Each meal was absolutely delicious, and we couldn't resist trying dessert, which was just as delightful. Once again, the staff provided friendly and flawless service. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. While it's not the cheapest option, it's definitely not overpriced either—every penny spent was worth it!

The restaurant is situated on the promenade and is beautifully decorated. It feels clean and fresh. Our meals were delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my wine. Overall, it was a great experience.

After a prolonged wait, a few sandwiches arrived, accompanied by a side of potato salad and a bowl of what seemed like scraps. There was no tiered cake stand, which was quite disappointing. Another half hour later, we received a plate with dry, bland little pieces of cake and a large scone with jam. To top it off, the plates weren’t even fine china; they resembled heavy stoneware instead. It seems like your chef could benefit from a look through Mrs. Beeton’s cookbook because this was, without a doubt, one of the worst afternoon teas I’ve ever had in many years.

Tasteless fillings in the sandwiches. No tongues for the sugar cubes. Not impressed by the choice of cake. The Scones were beautiful.

Food was bland and tasteless. I ordered the sea bass and was charged £16 for half a piece of sea bass on 3 little potatoes. People I was with ordered the fish and chips and was advised the fish was seas bass. They got two pieces of sea bass and paid half price??? Understaffed. I rarely write reviews but I felt this is one of the worst places I have eaten on the island. Won't be coming back.
