The Volunteer - Dorking

We enjoyed our meals, but the early midday booking meant that we were the only people in the pub restaurant that eat for most time. Nevertheless, the baked cadres, the kings garnel and steak and nierenpudding were all good. we used this restaurant earlier, but at this opportunity we felt that the volunteer came back only in the swing of the dinge after the different covid drawdown challenges. in our memory the menu choices of previous occasions were significantly reduced. however, their offer is still impressive for a small village pub.

I don't know my card was kept behind the bar for the duration of the visit. never happened before and was uncomfortable with tactics. to the waitress who said it was a normal practice that was not true at the last three visits of the volunteer, otherwise very happy.

Great lunch mid cycle from Guildford to Peaslake. Lovely quiet garden. Fish and chips were good and vegarian burger proclaimed as “best ever”. Nice crumble for pud.

This is our local and we often drop down for a swift pint. This was the first time we had a Sunday lunch there and it was great. Fresh vegetables oodles of gravy top notch meat and attentive service. We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful setting matched by the quality of the food and service. Will definitely be back.
