The Boat Inn - Doncaster

There were some issues with service, as other guests were also waiting for their food and drinks. We had to remind the staff twice that we had not yet received our drinks, even after waiting for 20 minutes. The food took quite a while to arrive, especially the main course, but aside from lukewarm onion rings, our meal was enjoyable. It was disappointing to see that similar complaints had been made by other diners on the website from a year ago, indicating that these issues had not been addressed. Despite the service hiccups, I would consider returning to the Boat Inn, particularly in the summer months. I hope that these issues can be resolved to ensure a more consistent dining experience.

I arrived at The Boat to find that they had no record of my reservation, which I had made through this platform.

The prawn and lobster cocktail starter was very disappointing. There were only a few barely visible prawns and a tiny amount of lobster that appeared to be minced. The salad consisted solely of lettuce, which was very bland. The so-called "triple cooked chips" were more akin to oven chips and lacked flavor. Overall, the quality of the meal was subpar and the portions were small.

I have mixed feelings about The Boat Inn. When we arrived they had no record of my booking but luckily they had a table free anyway. They took a long time to come and take our order. Once ordered, the food arrived quickly but my onion rings were cold and my sweet potato fries were burnt. Dessert was lovely though. When I asked for the bill it still hadn't arrived half an hour later until I found a member of staff and asked to pay. Overall I was a bit disappointed with this visit.

I booked a table of 8 for dinner last night and had no better experience. more attentive waiter (if we have his name to compose him directly) who was also very polite! the eating was delicious, especially the Camembert bites and super filling! we thought it was all very good price and it had a nice atmosphere! amazing to see all negative feedback and cannot understand for living from me why! do not sleep in the boat inn!
