Bidrage med feedbackWent to this restaurant last night for a 40th birthday party with 80 people. Everyone was very disappointed with their experience. The food was horrible. Completely tasteless and very bland to say the least. The service was non-existent as was their staff. The bathrooms were filthy which left most guests unwilling to even use them at all. We served ourselves at the buffet, and after our meal was finished no one even came to our table to pick up our plates. When they brought out the dessert, they weren't even willing to cut any of the cakes. It's safe to say no one will be returning to this so-called Indian Palace so do yourselves a favor and don't waste your time or spend your money eating here either.
We decided to go out for a Monday evening supper with friends. ...We (4) met in the parking lot..(feb,20,2017)...It was a veritble ice skating rink,,,even the entrance to the restaurant itself . was an ice ramp...Haven't these owners ever heard of salt for the ice problem....The place had a group of about 10 , so we had a great choice for seating. The first thing I noticed when we got our menus, was that mine was actually sticky to the touch..as a first (ice) then second (dirty, sticky menu) impressions ...not so good....GIVE THEM A CHANCE...>the food was Great ...except the butter chicken was maybe out of a jar....We started with the mixed vegetable appetizer plate ..very good and also had the fish pakora (8 pieces) excellent taste & crispy. Then to the main courses..butter chicken --o.k..bali lamb...was great.dali mash & aloo gobi were perfect..The naan bread was very good... Only the basmati rice was cold...The reason being. they probably don't heat this place. We will definitely return ...but in summer...no ice rink outside and hopefully warmer inside.
Not being a Montrealer, I won't compare this spot with those in the rest of the city, as I'm not as qualified to do that. But if I'm comparing with other places I've been, regardless of the location, I'd have to rate this place as average.I was present for a special occasion, and a buffet was setup for everyone's use. The round of appetizers consisted of vegetable samosas, fish pakora, and salad. The fish was my favourite dish of the night - spiced well enough to have a bit of kick, and flavourful. The samosas were small (not a problem in and of itself), but if you had told me they were store-bought, I would have believed it. Salad was nothing remarkable: chopped iceberg, onions, tomatoes, etc.The main courses in the buffet were unlabeled. That said, experienced Indian diners would recognize most of the dishes without issue. The butter chicken was satisfactory. The tandoori chicken was a cut below what I'd hoped for. No issues with the naan or the rice.Service was ok, though I didn't require much.Facilities were not particularly clean, including the washrooms.
There are new owners at Tandoor et Grille Haveli on Sources. The buffet was hot and delicious. I found it was more spicy than before but all the old favorites were there. Chicken Biryani, butter chicken (not my favorite), lamb curry, palak paneer, eggplant, chana masala, fish pakora, mixed vegetables, tandoori chicken, fabulous naan bread etc. We went at lunchtime and the buffet was a very reasonable price of $12. There were also Indian desserts but we just had no more room! It is bring your own wine which is another nice touch. Hashim as usual was helpful and friendly.
Pakistani here, let me tell you this watered down and just bland food! Butter chicken was your typical out of the can with sweet sauce! Channa lacked masala, should of stuck with oatmeal at home! For $20 this is the worst buffet I ever had.
