Calm and largely quiet enough with mellow enough music to have a drink in peace and have a decent conversation if you got company. Foods just about fine .. scale’s surely tipping toward the authentic side of the metre. What I loved is the open area which is going to be a blessing during the 20 days of chill we got in this country. Not cheap but surely not Uber expensive.
Consistent as ever .. reasonably good Chinese food with perfect service.. place being quite large, last minute walkin possible without calling them to check .
Visited with group of friends for dinner. The restaurant was empty with only one table occupied yet had to wait for a while to get seated since the gentleman forgot us : so had to remind to get seated. Happy hour drinks were beer and wine and we opted for beer at 20% off. Prawn crackers were served with beer which was good. We ordered starters, wasabi prawns, Salt n pepper calamari and pao mushroom , which was served timely and warm. Mains took over 30 mins. Between they repeated the same starters by mistake and had to point it for return. But this time the restaurant was 1/3rd full and service suffered. Mains pak Choi in garlic was amazing. The vegetable Singapore noodles was done perfectly and good for one. The chilli chicken was served supper hot and was great aswell. Food wise they maintain a good standard as I had been here several times in the past. One area they could improve to nail it is their service and attentiveness to guest and getting the orders correct. Else it’s excellent restaurant to visit for good food and drinks.
We had the hot and sour soup, siu mai, mee goreng, and sizzling lamb. Soup was pretty meh but the dumplings were great, just oddly blue. The mee goreng was delicious and the sizzling lamb was especially good. Service was great. And the menu was pretty interesting to be honest. Many dishes from all over Asia
A Chinese restaurant in the heart of Doha, with a cozy dimmer interior. The food honestly didn't seem very authentic Chinese, but served a wide variety from dimsum, chicken, beef, noodles and rice. Started off with Wasabi prawns (very flavorful and sharp dipping sauce) and the salt pepper calamari (nice crisp but a bit mild in flavor). Then for the dimsum we tried their Shanghai dumplings (highly recommend, spicy chicken and shrimp interior, but the dough was a bit tough and raw), the crystal shrimp dumplings (very soft dough and flavorful inside) and chicken BBQ bao (actually very delicious and sweet interior but the bao itself was almost too sweet and cakey and not so fluffy). Then for the main course we tried the Kung pao chicken (not authentic at all and not spicy, tasted more like a sweet and sour), sizzling beef (very tender beef and a nice sauce), me gooreng noodles (delicious noodles, no complaints), and finally the shrimp chili fried rice (this was the best thing on the menu, very flavorful with lots of garlic and chili). For the price, the portions were big and very filling.
