You can spend a whole day at Lyme Park. We enjoyed our walk through the woods, the play area, house and gardens. We did not visit Mr Darcey's pond and many of the other walking routes. When we return we will. The house had a lovely trail around looking for Rams heads and Coates of Arms which my daughter enjoyed. Staff/volunteers were very friendly and willing to help. Decor and furnishings beautiful especially the tapestry. Gardens well kept with many species of plants and flowers. The park is presently been updated and awaiting new play equipment. However the equipment they have in place kept my daughter entertained. Looking forward to returning when it's all been replaced. Very fog friendly with even free biscuits gor our four legged friend Lucky. Well worth a visit!
What a wonderful house and massive grounds, far too much to take in, in just one day. We will have to visit it again in the future. The weather was kind to us on our visit but most of the day could be spent inside the house and cafés. It was surreal looking over the distant vista of the city of Manchester Stockport from the hills surrounding the house. Well worth a visit.
Walked around the house and gardens before hiking out to Paddock House. Such a beautiful place! Lots of areas to have a picnic, amazing history and wonderful views
