Cafe Brunet - Diamondhead

This was our first time trying breakfast at this restaurant. We drove from Waveland because we were looking for something different than Waffle House or McDonald's. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the delicious food and coffee. We are excited to come back again. They also have a kids menu, making it a great option for families.

There were 9 people in the restaurant and it took 28 minutes to receive lukewarm breakfast food. It was very disappointing. This happened at 1:15 on a Saturday. The waitress did not mention any specials, but we noticed a sign with specials as we were leaving. The waitress explained that the reason for the long wait was because other meats were on the griddle (which must be small) and the cook did not want our eggs to mix with other flavors. Overall, it was a less than satisfactory experience.

I typically don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. My husband, 3 year old, and I visited this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday at 10:30am. The restaurant was not very crowded and we ordered simply - two eggs with bacon and an omelet. However, we ended up waiting an hour for our food, which was unacceptable for a cafe serving breakfast. It was difficult to explain the delay to our 3 year old. To make matters worse, our order was incorrect when it finally arrived. I would not recommend this place.

Food is excellent. Coffee is the best no watered down mess. True New Orleans Coffee. They often have special flavors and even did a donation to breast cancer organizations with one of them.The pork chop is so juicy. I recommend it. The eggs are fresh and not overcooked.I would give it 5 stars, but the menu is limited, so the items that were my 5 star go to selections are not there now. Would still recommend eating there! Overall the best breakfast in Diamondhead.

I asked for a nutella delight and the waiter didnt know how to make it so he asked me what my second choice was after telling me which ones he could make and ended up bringing the second choice out. Why have something on the menu if the servers can't make it? The vanilla spice latte was very good though. I ordered the texas bacon chicken melt and it came with no bacon on it. I mentioned it to the waiter and he brought out 2 strips for me. The chicken was chewy. The bread had good flavor since it was buttered and grilled. Overall the flavor was good. The hash-brown casserole is always good. I think next time i'll ask for it to be cooked more so the hash brown has a crunch to it. The service wasn't the best, there were only 2 people in the restaurant at the time. And the food took a while. I was with another person and the waiter conversed with my friend and completely avoided eye contact with me. He talked a lot. My friend ordered the avocado toast. I think it'd be better without the spinach. The flavors clashed. When I got the check, the customer comment card was already filled out with everything checked excellent. I was tempted to take it out, but the waiter would've probably just filled out another one. This definitely made me upset. You're just hurting the restaurant by not being able to take constructive criticism to make improvements. Overall, this is one of the only breakfast places nearby and if you're hungry, then check it out. Everyone has different opinions and experiences. I hope you enjoy yours! I unfortunately don't know if i'll return.
