Colina De Oro Mexican - Diamond Springs

This restaurant is a great authentic option that is very reasonably priced and has friendly staff. Although it may be slightly off the beaten path, it is definitely worth the drive. I dined with a friend and ordered a beef dish, but unfortunately found it to have a strange smell. I ended up eating the beans instead. When I took the leftovers home and offered them to my dog, she sniffed it and walked away, indicating that the food must have been spoiled or old. This experience completely changed my opinion of the restaurant. It serves as a reminder to always be cautious of what you eat.

In all honesty, I mistakenly believed that this restaurant was part of the same ownership as the locations in Plymouth, Shingle Springs, and Amador. However, it turns out that it is not. The food was decent, but the prices were on the higher side and we had to send one dish back because it was not properly explained to us. This could have been avoided if the server had provided more information. Unlike the other location we visited, this one only serves wine and beer. We were very impressed with the food, service, and bar at the first location, so we do not plan on returning to this one anytime soon. The staff was friendly and accommodating, so I am not trying to deter anyone from giving it a try. Just be prepared for higher prices and make sure you know what you want to order. We came, we dined, and we had an experience. Thank you.

This Mexican restaurant is definitely my favorite. I always order the wet carnitas burrito with Verde sauce. I eat here at least three times a week, and they are the best.

Our first time in to Colina De Oro we were very pleased with the service, food and the welcome atmosphere. We will definitely be back for the Good food and service. The salsa and chips are delicious but don’t spoil your appetite with them.

They have the best fish tacos with excellent customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
