Bidrage med feedbackI'm not usually a big fan of tequila, but this was hands down one of the best palomas I've ever tasted. The freshly squeezed grapefruit juice paired perfectly with the smooth tequila. My husband's margarita was equally delightful, and I typically don't even enjoy margaritas. The food features classic taqueria-style offerings such as street tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. I had the chicken quesadilla, which was a generous portion with four large, generously-stuffed pieces of chicken. My only minor complaint is that it could have used a little something extra, like salsa, sour cream, or aioli. The tequila selection on the menu is quite impressive, and you can even order a tequila flight, which is a fun option. The service is quick and efficient, and there's a good amount of outdoor seating available. This place is perfect for grabbing a taco and a cold drink after a day at the beach. I can imagine it gets quite busy in the summer, and for good reason. I would definitely return.
My first taste was the glass of water. Although I understand it was city tap water, it was undrinkable—it had a strong chlorine taste and smell. Unfortunately, they didn't have any bottled water as an alternative. I kindly asked our waiter, who was very attentive and pleasant, to take it away, and he obliged. Next, we received the guacamole, which was primarily avocado with a hint of onion. It was passable, but the chips were heavy, overly salted, and greasy. I had to request salsa to go with them, and by this time, we still hadn't received napkins or utensils. The restaurant boasted an extensive Tequila and Mezcal selection, but the prices were on the high side, so I opted out of having any drinks. My friend ordered a Mexican Coke (made in the USA, which was fine) along with two shrimp tacos. When the tacos arrived, each of the four tortillas contained just one shrimp, piled high with red cabbage and topped with three large slices of jalapeño. That was it. The tacos must have weighed less than an ounce and were largely overpowered by the cabbage and jalapeño. I ordered a mixed green salad featuring corn, quinoa, black beans, cheese, and lime juice. There was no other dressing, and it tasted like I was eating straight lime. Despite that, I kept eating until I was interrupted by gnats. I couldn’t finish my salad without accidentally consuming a few of those pesky little creatures. When one landed on my nose, I decided it was time to ask for the check. I typically don’t write such negative reviews, but this experience warrants an exception. We definitely won’t be returning.
I stopped by for a quick snack. It’s a lovely place. We ordered a few tacos and enjoyed a beer.
As for the beans, they included a mystery meat that might have been pork. While we are not Jewish, we believe it’s essential for the restaurant to disclose such information, especially for their Jewish customers, so they can make informed choices. Overall, the food was neither enjoyable nor acceptable, and it certainly didn't justify the price we paid. I strongly advise anyone reading this review to steer clear of this establishment, as they seem unwilling or unable to provide quality meals. This place definitely deserves a zero-star rating. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously.
I do not recommend this restaurant. The service was extremely slow and lacking in quality. One of the waitresses appeared to be under the influence. The food did not meet expectations, and overall, it was far too expensive for what was offered.
