Most food we got was pretty good. The blinken fried popcorn shrimp was cooked over. Your menu had nothing special. They were mostly burgers and sandwiches. Your drinks were delicious. Volt wouldn't be my first choice for a restaurant in Detroit.
You do not take reservations and there is not even someone who shows you to a table. This hotel restaurant has only furnished tables and it is free for all to grab a table. This was on New Year's Eve when almost every other restaurant at the Marriot Hotel in Detroit and in most parts of Detroit were closed. 100,000 people were in town for the NHL classic and this bankrupt city doesn't have the good sense of capitalizing on it... but I'm digressing. Please remove Volt from the open table.
It was a bit too busy for my dear New Years Eve but despite the crowded environment, the waitress found us a table and could visit us more than I thought with the number of customers. Volt has a great view of Windsor and the Detroit River, a good menu and a bar staff who know how to mix a good **** Zesar. A great place overall.
We booked this restaurant for a group for New Years Eve a few days before the event. On the day of we called the restaurant directly to see if we could add one more to our party. We were told they did not have a reservation for us nor had they been taking any reservations for several days. With no other option, we tried to go to the restaurant that night as planned and it was nothing more than a first come first serve lounge with not so much as a hostess stand. It was a nightmare and we ended up going elsewhere.
Food is good but terrible service. Very slow, needed more runners. Took over 45 minutes to get our food mad we were there at 11:25 a.m.
