The Bistro - Des Plaines

The food and drinks are decent, but be prepared for potential waits during check-in and for bar service. The rooms are comfortable and clean, nothing fancy, just what you’d expect from a Courtyard. The on-site Bistro offers satisfactory meals, but the best dining options are about a 5-7 minute walk to the casino next door, which is a safe route (though one hotel guest from Alabama took the shuttle for less than 2,000 feet due to concerns about walking in Chicago, which I found a bit troubling). While it’s not my top choice for O'Hare hotels, it serves its purpose well. I would rate it 4 stars, but I’d prefer the Westin down the street if the price is right.

This classic diner offers quality dishes that truly impress. The caramelized banana French toast was absolutely delicious, and the meat lovers skillet topped with scrambled eggs was equally delightful. Both dishes were recommended by our waitress, who made our lunch experience a pleasure.

Fantastic restaurant! Our waitress was friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. She anticipated our needs without us having to ask. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were more than enough. The restaurant was clean, and there was plenty of parking available. We will definitely return!

I had a long layover at O'Hare, so I decided to try the caramelized banana French toast. It was incredible!

Upon my arrival, I was in need of an energy drink, and I found a cooler near the counter. I grabbed a can of AMP, but it was priced at a hefty seven dollars, which seems excessive for just a can of sugar and caffeine. This suggests that the hotel caters primarily to business travelers who might not be as concerned about pricing. Additionally, since they target a business audience, it would be beneficial to have USB charging ports in the rooms; mine had none. Aside from that, I found this hotel quite satisfactory and would not hesitate to return when I'm in the Rosemont area for work.
