I was spontaneously a guest at the Rhönpaulus tonight and I am thrilled. The restaurant initially looks very rustic and you might expect “average home cooking”. The menu is not too extensive and the season is significantly adjusted. I opted for a carving with pawlings and potatoes. Not only was the service fast, attentive and very friendly - I haven't eaten such a good carving for a long time. Even the plate was very beautifully dressed with fresh! Tomato cubes garnished on modern dishes. But again to the scavenger: a crunchy pannade, juicy, delicate meat, good spice; the potatoes were equally delicious and not only boring supplements. The whole was complemented by a piffer cream sauce with really fresh, many pifferlings, perfectly cooked and seasoned. What I particularly liked: the sauce is placed in an extra bowl, so that the magnificent pannade of the scavenger does not soften in the sauce. In addition, a supplemental salad, which was already a palate-a freshly prepared salad selection, where each variety had its own dressing, was balanced and fine in taste. I can only say: Thank you for the great dinner! It is a pity that not so much value is placed on freshness at very good price-performance ratio. Absolute recommendation!

Very nice ambience delicious food and friendly service

Day 6 and 7 on the Hochrhöner: We stayed here for 2 nights. Arrival on rest day is not a problem. A short call and the host opens the door. You can also rely on them here to be called back. The rooms are clean and good. We could then enjoy the food on the second night. Breakfast was rich and good here too. Here too the dog is welcome.
