Bidrage med feedbackStayed here for one night whilst walking the Limestone way. Room was spacious and comfortable and breakfast was really tasty. Was great to see the cows on the farm and to watch the birds in the garden on the feeder. A little bit remote in terms of location and we could hear the owners in the room below during the early evening.
We are staying here for three nights and could not be more pleased. The room is very comfortable with its own bathroom (electric shower). There is plenty of space and the standard is cleaning is very good. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. There is a good choice for breakfast, too. Finally, the setting is deep in the country, but close to local walks and sightseeing. Can recommend the tea shop in nearby Tissington, too.
We visited here after seeing the tearooms in tissington was quite busy and we are glad we did! Great value we both had a jacket potato and then I had a cream tea and the other half lemon drizzle. Service was fab, great value for money and all taste amazing. It was also dog friendly with plenty of parking. The really unique think about this place is the window in the corner of the tearooms that looks directly into the cow shed, there was a heifer stood licking the window while we were there and it was fabulous!
We took a detour on our walk and it was well worth it. The home made soup (leek and potato) was delicious, as was the cheese scone with cream cheese and chutney.
Stopped off on a detour from our walk, lovely views from the surrounding area. We ordered tea and tea cakes for two which was served on a spotless bone China tea set. The tea cakes were freshly toasted and served with butter and a dish of strawberry jam. The tea pot had a knitted tea cosy to keep the brew warm. Good atmosphere and loved the small window into the barn from which the calves could watch us! Will definitely return.
