Bidrage med feedbackThe food at this restaurant is absolutely incredible, featuring delicious local cuisine sourced from Colorado. It's clear that the chefs are very talented and passionate about the food they create. Each course was a pleasant surprise that left us looking forward to the next. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Our waiter seemed disinterested and detached, which was disappointing considering the high price we paid for the meal. It felt like the sommelier and one of the chefs were the ones truly dedicated to providing us with information about our food and drinks. Our main server didn't even check in on how our meal was going. Despite the awkwardness of the service, the exceptional food made up for it.
Was in Denver for a wedding and decided early on we wanted to try this place based on reviews. It was absolutely amazing, service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We opted into the cocktail pairing at the last minute because we had never done anything like that before and it was absolutely worth it. Some highlights of our meal were the cocktail paired with the tomato 3 ways dish (So weird and savory and sweet and good). We also loved the trout custard dish, lamb lettuce wraps, and the dessert dessert cocktail. It is truly a shame there is no Michelin guide for Denver!!
This restaurant is overrated at 4+ stars. The experience is nice and the food is generally good but for $600 for two (tasting menu and wine pairing), I should have my socks blown off. This place doesn’t do that. The best thing I ate was the piece of bread in the picture. No sarcasm, it was a pretty amazing piece of bread. The worst thing I had was what was introduced as a Korean-style lamb ssam that tasted nothing like anything Korean I’ve ever had but did taste like bad barbecue. It was plated with an inelegantly chopped mushroom “XO” duxelle that was so overpowering that it was inedible. Not good. The wine was Colorado local and average. You’re better off choosing a $200 bottle of wine you know will be good than trying these start ups unless you are really intent on helping a local producer. The restaurant charges a 22% service fee for the wait staff and then additionally asks for tips. I’m sure the margins on the small plates they serve are probably extraordinary and they are making plenty of money each service. But if you are going to provide a “living wage” to your employees (which I support) just increase the price of the meal by 22% without telling me about it. It’s off putting and unnecessary to tell your customers what a good owner you are.I’m happy to pay $600 for a meal, I’ve done it twice in the last month. I’d do the first one (not Wolfs Tailor) again in a heartbeat but I won’t come back to Wolfs Tailor again. For what it’s worth the staff is nice and the experience was pleasant.
Wow definitely the best meal I’ve had in the Denver area. We were blown away by the creative presentation and flavors. Everything locally sourced and each course was liking eating (and drinking) a work of art. We were literally surrounded by the garden they used to make the food. Wish it wasn’t so expensive but worth it.Food: 5/5
This dining experience was not just good, it was really good. If you look for something original and local where food, wine and drinks are perfectly matched, you have your destination!
