Bidrage med feedbackWhen we first arrived, our server was fantastic and provided us with plenty of information about the Ice Bar in the basement—perhaps a bit too much, but that’s okay. After placing our orders for drinks and food, we waited 30 minutes without receiving any drinks. We got our food first, and only shortly afterward did our drinks arrive. Throughout this wait, our server never once checked in on us. When he finally came back to bring our drinks, one of my friends expressed dissatisfaction, and instead of addressing her concern, he argued that there were two large parties downstairs. To be fair, there were only a few tables occupied upstairs, so the size of those parties shouldn’t have impacted our experience. The manager stepped in and offered us a free shot, for which we were grateful. She was very kind and sincere in her apologies, mentioning that she was training a new team. Unfortunately, when we confronted our server about the service, he simply ignored us and didn't return until it was time for the check—after we had to wave our cards to get his attention. When he finally came back, he turned on the charm, complimenting our jewelry and chatting about how he hoped we had enjoyed our time. It felt insincere and was a frustrating end to our evening. Overall, while the food and atmosphere were lovely, the service really let us down.
The food was just average. The chorizo and shrimp crostini appetizer was tasty but could have benefited from chunkier pieces of both ingredients. The Latin chop salad lacked freshness and was very underdressed. The Cuban pork chop was overcooked to the point of being tough; I had to saw through it with a steak knife. Our server was attentive, but we were seated next to the display case with flavored ices, which meant we had to listen to the waitstaff discussing options with other diners throughout our meal. The Double Barrel club downstairs had a great bartender, but I wouldn't categorize it as a speakeasy, despite their marketing. Overall, I won't be returning.
The food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal. Each dish had a wonderful depth of flavors that showcased the chef's expertise. While the drinks were somewhat pricey, the added touch of ice made them fun and enjoyable. My only issue was with our waiter, who mistakenly charged us for items we didn't order. After two attempts to correct the bill, we ultimately had to handle it ourselves. Unfortunately, nothing was offered to compensate for the inconvenience. However, this might have been an isolated incident with our waiter and not indicative of the restaurant as a whole. We would definitely consider returning.
Overall our group had a nice time. The margaritas were really good. Props to the bar tender. The staff there should take the time to explain the ice lab and drink program. Be sure to check out the bar downstairs. It cold and dark. Perfect for a hot summer evening night cap.
Food was great except a couple items were a bit overcooked. Liked the unique ice bar. The ambiance and decor was very cool. The service that night left a lot to be desired. It was a Monday night. There were only two other tables besides us at one point in the entire restaurant so there was no reason we shouldn’t have had attentive quality service the whole night. The young lady who was serving us either wasn’t trained or just isn’t a very good server.
