Gennaro's Cafe Italiano - Denver

It was a busy Friday evening, and their kitchen staff struggled to keep up. The crew did a super job letting us know about the waiting time. This used to be the neighborhood spot. It has been 20 years since I stopped by. I am not 100% sure if it is still the same joint, but it doesn't disappoint! The food is great, almost too good for the price. Try the meatball spaghetti, bruschetta! You won't regret it... As we are hooked!

My family has been dining at Gennaro’s my whole life. I just want to give compliments to the chef tonight. The fried mushrooms are one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life!! The pizza was also superb. I couldn’t find a place on Slice to leave a review (even tho I’m hesitant to let this masterpiece secret get out for fear they will change under high demand. But whomever the chef was tonight—I’m dreaming about the mushrooms. They were exquisite! Can you pass along this message to the chef and current owners? Friday night delivery has never been so good!

This place has been around since I was a 12-year-old and ordered pizza at 2:00 in the morning and paid for it with pennies. They are still serving awesome food and Pizza. You can't go wrong with this Italian place. Not sure if they deliver pizza at 2:00 in the morning anymore though. By the way I'm 60 now.

Absolutely outstanding food! Very top notch. The environment is amazing as is the employees that are working to keep it a great establishment. Hats off to Tanya, the manager/owner. Very good customer service to assure that her customers will be returning happy. I highly recommend Gennaro's to anybody!

Not what I expected, when we walked in. But, give it a shot. The cheese bread with spicy sauce is great. Must get the fried ravioli. The lasagna, and calzone are incredible. The deserts are okay. But the service was awesome and if you are lucky....the bar tender will tell you Chuck Norris jokes. Love it. I will be back!
