Bidrage med feedbackAfter discovering that the two other cafes we had planned to visit were no longer in business, we ended up at Pennys. The restaurant was clean and the owner was friendly and welcoming. However, we found the food to be adequate and inexpensive, but lacking in inspiration. Other cafes that I have rated highly have gone above and beyond with offerings like homemade bread, cakes, scones, soup, and burgers. In contrast, the items we tried at Pennys included a chicken baguette, turkey and stuffing baguette, cheese on toast, and two beef burgers with cheese, onion, and chips - all of which seemed to be made with processed ingredients. The bill came to £28 for our meal, including four cups of tea and an orange drink. While we didn't feel overcharged, we left feeling somewhat disappointed with the overall dining experience.
This restaurant is not good. It is not worth the price, the customer service is very poor, and the staff has a horrible attitude. The coffee was bad and the food tasted like it came from a can or was frozen. Don't bother going, the quality is extremely lacking for a local cafe. And requiring payment in cash only is inconvenient and needs to be addressed.
We stopped by Penny's for breakfast this morning and had a great time. We ordered a toastie, a baguette, and a small breakfast, along with drinks, all for just £10. What a fantastic deal! The food was delicious and Penny was very friendly. Highly recommended.
Came in on a Friday morning with my husband!friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble when changing things on teh breakfast (I'm fussy). Super speedy and could taste it was freshly made and hot. Really nice environment and even got a decent coffee. Definitely recommend, very simple menu and the prices were fantastic. Will be comimg back for sure!!
Was staying close by for the weekend and was recommended by our hosts. Full English was only £4.50 and very filling indeed. Great value and cooked really well.
