Amar Mediterranean Bistro

We used to order take out from Amar during Covid all the time. I have only dined in twice but about once a month we get take out. It's usually the beef kabobs. They are always perfect, seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly and just excellent. We also ordered the Tabbouleh salad and it was perfect as well . It's really unusual that a restaurant does something perfect ever time. Amar is truly a gem !

The food is delicious and authentic Lebanese. We had the mezza for two and tried the hummus, falafel, tabouli and fried cauliflower for the appetizers. They were all top notch. Then, we each had the kafta (beef lamb with spices). It was delicious, but the portion size was too big on the main course while the portion size on the apps was too small. Usually, when you get a traditional middle eastern mezza, the emphasis is on the appetizers. Then, a smaller meat dish comes at the end. I wonder if they have reversed this traditional practice to please the American palette. But, we ended up not eating much of the meat main course, and in the future, I would just order the apps separate and then split the main course. I'm not sure why this has been bothering me since we are there. Perhaps because it's contrary to the traditional way of serving a mezza.

The food is delicious. We had a great time with friends feasting on all they had to offer. The service was great. The inside was small, but they did have outside seating.

I'm Lebanese and it's si hard to find a place that reminds you of home. But this place is one billion percent and hands down the best middle eastern in town. I HIGHLY recommend it. I'll be coming back for sure. The chef is Jordanian which is why the food is AMAZING. The knafa and sfiha blew my mind of how good it was. Literally thought my mom was in the kitchen.
