Kanchi's Take Away

This small restaurant is absolutely outstanding. The best kottu ever. Fabulous soup. Perfect seafood. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is cooked fresh, in front of you. Reasonably priced. Absolutely faultless.

Visited based on the reviews here and was not disappointed. Went for lunch, great soups and returned for dinner the same day. Loved our chat with Kanchi and his lovely fresh food. Highly recommended.

During my week stay in Sri Lanka, I went and had dinner at Kanchi’s four times. Whilst I tried several places in Colombo, nothing could compare to the food I had here. Not only was in the best in terms of flavour, it is also very affordable. Kanchi is lovely and an excellent conversationalist, he provided great local knowledge about Sri Lanka and I would recommend coming here and talking to him (and eating) before planning any trips. The Kottu is amazing and I couldn’t eat enough of it! Definitely a must-go when you visit Sri Lanka, you will not regret it.

At Kanchi's you don't just get delicious food and great service but also to meet the nicest person EVER ! The owner is such a good heart human being and we enjoyed every conversation with him. He spices the dishes as you like it, not like other restaurants in Sri Lanka and will totally respond to all your wishes. He loves his job and will be the best cook you can get around ! I mean: we went 3x for dinner on our 3 days trip in Mount Lavinia : D

The best kottu prawns in Sri Lanka, very friendly atmosphere (greetings to the owner : , fresh ingredients, perfectly flavored. I recomment to visit Mt Lavinia to try this great food!
