P'tit Rouet - Degelis

Arret nourriture en route. Resto style familial et local. Chose rare, sandwich tomate toasté laitue mayo. Bon Hot Chicken. Pour les becs sucrés, le gateau maison avec glacage au sucre à la crème vous enchantera.

We stopped here for lunch based on the full parking lot - always a good sign. Many of the tables were filled with groups of what appeared to be locals, of the middle-aged and senior variety. We were fortunate to have an English speaking waitress (not all that common in this part of rural Quebec) and the resto had an English menu as well. Extensive menu, probably something for everyone. I had a very good clubhouse sandwich (my standby) and hubby really enjoyed his retro hot chicken sandwich (complete with fries and overcooked peas & carrots - just like his mom makes it!). Standard diner food with some modern uptakes, well done.

En route vers le Nouveau-Brunswick, nous y sommes arrêtées pour le lunch avant de passer la frontière entre les deux provinces. Affamées, nous espérions un bon repas.Que de déceptions! Nous avons pris un poulet avec sauce asiatique. La sauce sûrement sortie d'un sachet commercial était absolument mauvaise. C'était difficile à avaler. Le service était honnête, sans plus, mais la serveuse semblait débordée.Le restaurant est toutefois propre.

We stopped in here for lunch while visiting old Quebec, my husband really wanted to try the Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. I had an order of wings. Both meals were served with a side of potato chips. Both of our meal were very good.Food service was slow and our waitress never follwed up to see if we wanted more drinks or how the meal was. I had the blonde beer and my husband had dark. The beer was good!Prices were reasonable and the establishment itself is pretty cool.
