Canton Restaurant - Deer Lake

Generous portions! Curry beef was tasty, as was the lemon chicken! Lemon chicken was drowning in sauce, might be better to have sauce on the side. Overall though, pretty good Chinese food. Does taste a bit westernized.

The best Chinese restaurant in Newfoundland! I’ve ate Chinese from coast to coast and in between. The Canton and in Deer Lake is the most delicious tasting and bang for your buck.

The restaurant is a small family-owned Chinese restaurant in a quaint town. I started with the Wonton soup, which did not need any additional seasoning. For my main dish, I had combo plate #2 which included egg roll, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken chow mein. The sweet and sour sauce was pleasantly sweet with a hint of sourness, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. The fried rice had a subtle yet delicious flavor, and the chicken chow mein was excellent. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning the next time I am in Deer Lake.

Food was great, Cantonese chow mein was OUTSTANDING, I am from Saskatoon Saskatchewan and love Chinese food but this noodle dish was by far the best ever,and very nice lady at the front

I really like the traditional retro decor of this restaurant. The portion sizes of the classic Chinese dishes are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The classic style and menu add to the charm of the place.
