Excellent drinks and amazing seasonal menus with local ingredients, which is not to LOVE!!!

Friendly service, food was excellent! My only complaint was my Steelhead Trout Salat was quite small for the price. My husband got her speciality, which was a kind of trout cake sandwich with frits, and there was a ton of food for him, so you can always want to order the special. We definitely go back when in the area.

What a treat! My wife and I discovered this restaurant while I visited Decora Iowa for a day visit. Lunch was so good that we made reservations for dinner this evening. We met Karena, the cook and learned from her background. A very sweet and talented young lady. We look forward to returning to this beautiful city.

The Duck Confit was delicious! I had a duck before it wasn't a fan, but you did it right! I have seconds! Also the asparagus as a side was beautiful, perhaps less bread crumbs the Seared Salmon was also good. We were not excessively hungry, but the portions were a beautiful size, not too big. The cocktails were missed. The service was decent.

It's hard to keep a restaurant successful over many years what is timeless, what is dated? At La Rana, the seasonal menu and fresh, local ingredients mean the experience is never stale. At the same time the superior quality of the food, the warm ambiance with the perfect amount of happy diners chatter to feel like your conversation is private but not like you need to shout, and the perennial selection of perfect desserts is unwavering. Fantastic experience tonight, as I have come to expect over my 12 years as a patron. Do not miss La Rana if you are looking for great food in Decorah!
