Papa's Place - Dawsonville

Charming, classic family breakfast spot! You receive generous portions of delicious food, plenty of coffee, and delightful sayings to enjoy. I absolutely love this place!

I really dislike what the new owner has done to Papa's. It used to be our favorite spot to eat at the bar with our beloved servers, but now they’ve changed the menu, increased the prices, and we no longer see our favorite servers there. We don’t like having to stand in line to place our order upon arrival. We will really miss Rory and Melissa. The new tipping system is not to our liking either; we prefer to give tips directly to our favorite servers.

I worked at Papa's for several years, and I believe this new concept is fantastic! It enables them to serve more guests and do so more quickly. I ordered biscuits to-go for visiting family along with a whole apple pie, and everything was absolutely delicious! The food is just as good, if not better, than the original Papa's! Keep up the great work, everyone!

Don't know who brainstormed the new ordering system but it will end up destroying business. Definitely a lack of food service experience ?

Had the worst experience tonight! And this sucks because we use to love this place. When Our food was delivered to table,the woman with glasses asked if we needed sauces we said yes. She then had a 15 minute gossip conversation with another table, meanwhile my wife bit into the Lima beans and they clearly tasted like there was a chemical in them. As in it was a foreign substance like cleaner or something. She had me taste to make sure she wasn’t crazy. I had to get up and find the woman and tell her and she goes yeah everyone is saying that! Why are you still serving them(especially if it is a possible food safety issue)? Then the red headed boy comes to our table and rudely says “did you complain about the Lima beans” and with his snotty attitude puts the green beans down. I was floored, so I said they tasted like cleaning chemicals and he waived his hand and sachet away. The only one who was kind was a blonde haired woman she was the one who was running the register. She tried to make things right. Please note I also heard several other tables complaining as well. For a $63 meal plus a tip that I wish I didn’t give prior to the experience, should have been better like a lot better.
