Bidrage med feedbackUpon arrival, we were seated promptly and enjoyed a pleasant appetizer and dinner, accompanied by five drinks and dessert. When it was time to settle the bill, the total came to $166. I handed our waiter the $200 gift card, but he returned shortly with a revised total of $203. Rather than argue, we decided to leave a $40 cash tip. Moments later, another staff member approached us to inform us that we still had a $13 credit on our gift card. We told him we would be more than happy for our waiter to keep it. While the food was good and service adequate, the confusion surrounding our bill after introducing the gift card left me questioning the restaurant's integrity. In the end, I enjoyed a decent meal in a strip mall setting for $40. If I decide to return, I’ll likely stick to the filet and pay in cash to avoid any further complications with gift cards.
Delicious dishes, attentive service, and an exceptional atmosphere make Monarch a standout in the Quad Cities. The cocktails are expertly crafted and add to the experience. It's the ideal spot for a romantic evening. I appreciate that some menu items change frequently, allowing us to discover new favorites with each visit.
We visited yesterday right before the dinner rush, and Jourdan was incredibly attentive and welcoming to both my husband and me. I ordered the tavern burger, which was perfect, while my husband enjoyed his favorite, the Poke Bowl; both dishes were fantastic. We couldn't snap a photo of the much-loved Kimchi Fries because we devoured them too quickly! This place is always a reliable choice for a meal, and the service is consistently attentive!
The food was mid range. Yiu can get better hummus from Walmart. The drinks are water down with too much ice. The steak was lacking in flavor. Even the dessert that was recommended by our waitress was weak. I was very disappointed in the service. It would be best to avoid this place.
My husband and I were looking for a restaurant for a romantic date night and I came across this restaurant. It had really good reviews, so we decided to give it a try.We had reservations which I would definitely recommend--especially if you are going on a weekend evening. The hostess quickly seated us and gave us menus and the waitress checked in almost immediately. The place was very crowded and the tables are located very close to each other, so it was loud. This made it difficult to carry on a conversation. Our waitress was the highlight of the evening. She was both friendly and efficient. We started with drinks--my husband had an old-fashioned, which he said was very good, and I ordered a mule and asked to substitute ginger ale for the ginger beer, which is something that I commonly do at restaurants/bars. They were happy to do that, but the drink was weak and had an odd flavor. We ordered the bourbon and brown sugar roasted butternut squash soup and the burrata for appetizers. The soup was very good, although the serving size was small, but the burrata was disappointing, as it lacked flavor and hardly had any toasted pepitos. My husband chose Nona's beef and pork bolognese for his entree and I chose the veggie platter and added the mini steak. My husband felt that his bolognese did not have enough sauce and was not seasoned well. The veggies on my veggie platter were all okay--nothing really stood out as delicious and the servings were small. I did get two mini steaks and they were fine. We also added the bread service which was very good, but we did need to ask for additional butter. We chose to share the sticky date pudding with vanilla bourbon butterscotch for our dessert and it was very good. So, if you are looking for average food, a loud atmosphere and good service, the Monarch should be on your list. We, however, will not be returning as there are better alternatives in the Quad Cities.
