Darwin RSL - DARWIN CITY

I had an early morning meeting in Barrie this morning so spent last night there.

Terrible! The most amazing part was that the people working at the hotel were WORSE than the prison like atmosphere....never again

In an area with a concentration of cheaper watering holes and small fast food outlets, this is a haven. It is tucked away on the first floor. Recently renovated, it is a great example of its type. Efficient service and a good menu. My barramundi was delicious.

The Sunday roast was delicious! But the staff made really made this a great experience. Many thanks to the helpful, friendly, informative, generous staff who were funny, friendly and adventurous cocktail makers! We will be back!!

This was our second visit to Darwin and the second Calcutta Draw for the Darwin Cup. Whilst we visited the RSL several times during our stay we found the service there indifferent to patrons ( lets say visitor's) were sometimes ignored at the Bar. The restaurant food is at best basic and tasteless and cheap eats, guess we couldn't or shouldn't expect better. Just seems to the writer the "staff' were a protected species. Now turning to the Calcutta Draw, what a debacle - we were told the draw would commence at 5:00PM also the ticket sales would cease. Well this year the "draw" was conducted in the car park and administered/conducted by Ladbrokes. The draw was dragged out and dragged out further
