Bidrage med feedbackWe keep coming back to this Indian restaurant for years now every time we are here in Dumaguete. Although they increased their pricing but it’s still really good.
Food was really good. No wonder it has good reviews. It was unfortunate that because of the lack of onions in the Philippines at that time we came, there were only curries and we were not able to try other dishes. Nevertheless, the chicken and beef curries we had plus extra basmati rice and rotis did not disappoint us. Moreover, the chai masala was tasty though I think it was powder only. I would prefer the real chai masala with spices like ginger, cardamom and cinnamon. The waiter 'kuya ' was also friendly. Prices are a bit higher than other restos because of the main ingredient, onion, that is expensive.
The good thing about the restaurant is you can ask the chef for an authentic taste and not be adjusted for the Filipino Palette. Don't ask for Vindaloo to be authentic unless you can handle spicy food, because it is spicy just as I remember my first foray into Vindaloo years ago. You might be surprise, it's not in the picture I had it delivered because I was having flu and I needed something for me to taste my food.
As far as I'm aware of, there are only three Indian restaurants in Dumaguete, and Roti Boss is the only one offering dine-in. The menu is limited, but what they do, they do well. So if you're in Dumaguete and yearning for some authentic Indian cuisine, this is the place. Please note that the dishes are a bit pricy compared to Indian restaurants in other cities.
The chicken we ordered was still raw inside. Upon showing this to the waitress she just left the table without comment, explanation or apology. We even had to pay the full price. Absolutely unacceptable.
