Eiscafe San Remo - Darmstadt

I was in the hotel near this restaurant and I had several meals, e.g. pizza, carving, seafood salad and all were delicious with fast services. the name of the restaurant sounds ice cream shop, but not correct. several more valued mentioned about the rudeness of the waiters, but I. agree the waiters did not smile to me who were their characters as long as they served good eating. I noticed they were friendly with old customers. I have a small comment on the fish menu, for the case that someone like me is allergic to prawn. I was surprised when I ordered “fish salad”, but it came from “Mishte seafood salad”. after a long English explanation it could be fixed with good taste.

They cook almost perfect, Italian dishes. very large portions. do not get shocked by the employees who look unfriendly, they are very nice.

Our group thrives in this restaurant in juni 2018. the restaurant has a long history in darmstadt since 1950. our local friends warned us that the waiters had a call to be strangers rude. they were inconspicuous, but our local hosts were. for that. personally, I appreciate a representative of the service industry who does a scene about not being died. but eating was nice and value for money was also good. I would visit this place again if I am in darmstadt, probably not. this is simply due to the lack of service. I don't think I need to be apologetic if I want to eat after a long day.

I guess I'm too used to gelato in Germany: so many Italians have their gelateria in the grunde everywhere you can find excellent gelato. everywhere this place is more of the exception than while the taste was ok-ish, the texture was so watery that you could feel the small ice particles in the gelato. it is the cheapest gelato in darmstadt and they understand why.

Rude waiters, bad german style' Italian food, awful ambience......i suggest, Da Nino, or the new L'olive trattoria
