Bidrage med feedbackHad dinner here last night after months of wanting to try this place. Unfortunately it was quite average. The service is slow and inattentive - having to wait for staff to notice you at various points of the meal - items forgotten etc. The food itself - has potential to be interesting but wasn't. The chicken and chips - essentially just bony chicken and chickens you can get anywhere. The African platter was different - but essentially beef jerky and sausage with dried fruit. Didn't think either was worth the price.
Staff were rude. The food never came after hour and half wait and I had to leave the restaurant to get a fast food as we were all starving.
Had a lovely time there; it came highly recommended by the family! Waiting staff were friendly and helpful all the way; from helping with cases, taking orders, serving and sorting out uber rides. Food was yum yum yum, do try the samosas and bobotie. The peppermint tart was amazing.
I made a booking for 7.30pm on a Saturday. I called to confirm the table as no one called to confirm from the restaurant like specified on their website. I was told it wasnt busy and my table was reserved. When we arrived, there was no table. We waited for 20 minutes. We ordered food at 7.50pm. At 9pm we asked about the food and was told it was very busy and they will be out soon. The entrees arrived at 9.15pm. We ordered the chicken livers and samosas. The food was excellent the livers were spicy and beautiful. The lamb samosas were seasoned perfectly and the pastry was crisp and fresh. At 10.09pm we asked again where the rest of our food was. At 10.30pm we left without eating our mains as we had been there for 3 hours already. The waiters were uninterested and unfriendly and I couldn't justify staying any longer. Its a shame because the food was really good and I would have liked to try the mains.
Always a good vibe here, but hoped to see South African staff to add the flavour of home, and would be nice for patrons to get a taste of the Jozie culture with live music :)
