A King’s Cafe - Darby Township

My friend and I went there last night (9/20/23) to try the food……EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. I got the garlic parm wings, he got the lemon pepper wing and we both shared an order of crab fries and cheesesteak rolls. We were floored by the flavor. I just knew I would have leftovers since my friend never finishes his food. Not only did he finish his wings, but he ate one of mine.The loaded crab fries were delectabley delicious, and to top everything off our server Dani was a ball of sunshine. Dani greeted is with a smile, engaged us in small talk while taking our order and she was extremely attentive, even the security guard was pleasant.The only thing I didn’t like was the music (I detest today’s murder rap music), but we were the oldest people there.Kudos to King’s Cafe, we will definitely order food again!!!

The food was truly delicious! However, the time it took to get it was so, so bad. Ordering online states 30-50 minutes for pickup, which was fine. But, once I arrived, it took an additional 40 minutes. This establishment doesn 't respect people 's time! If it had not been for the awesome 'Bobby Brown ', My Prerogative karaoke performance, I watched while I waited, this probably would have been a 1 star rating. Your delicious food is not reason enough to continue to spend my hard-earned money at a place that holds my time hostage. I 'm a small business owner, too, so being busy is not an excuse!

Went to The R&B Room event that was hosted here and it was horrible. The space was entirely too small for the amount of people that were there. It was nowhere to breathe let alone sit or even stand comfortably. The line for food was ridiculous but there was no where to eat regardless. Overall terrible experience, never again.

The DJ is trash, his transitions are garbage and song selection makes no sense with no sense of flow. The fried rice was not fried it was more of a rice bowl at best and over priced. Highly disappointed, but if you don’t know any better I guess it’s ok. The hookah was garbage as well. The fries were very light like they were cooked in the microwave and not fried absolutely no crunch what so ever, soggy even. The wings were little as ever basically the same size as the hookah tip. The drinks were good tho. Parking is slim to none as it’s street parking on a semi major street.

Since Sister Muhammad’s closed, I had been in search of new place to get a salmon cheesesteak. Based on previous experiences, I thought that I had found my new spot at A King’s Cafe, but, today’s encounter was less than subpar. Cleaning solutions and materials were left out on the covered pool table. I had to ask someone at the bar to place my to-go food order, which wasn’t as much of an issue as the period of time that my friend and I had to wait for food that was not pleasing. After waiting for over 30 minutes, we inquired about the status of our order and were advised that our food was being boxed up. Ten minutes later, our food has still not been brought out… Bearing in mind that were less than 8 customers and the majority were at the bar or enjoying their hooka experience, it seems weird that our food was taking so long… chopped salmon cooked on a grill only takes about 10-15 minutes max to cook… our food was finally brought out and we left the facility.Once I got home (less than a 3 minute drive from the facility) I was super excited to embark on enjoying my salmon cheesesteak, but my excitement as was met with severe disappointment. My fries nor my salmon cheesesteak were hot, they were room temperature (which means that they were done well before being brought out to us) and it appeared that there was an attempt to keep the sandwich warm my toasting the top of it which burned the salmon and the edges of the roll. The sandwich was greasy and not well seasoned (poor comparison to prior experiences)I’m not sure if there was a change in chefs/cooks, but, this was not a good experience for a Monday night and considering that this was my friend’s first encounter, I’m pretty sure that it will be their first and last.I hope that the management takes some time out to assess these concerns.
