Bidrage med feedbackMy wife ordered the miso ramen combo, which came with an avocado roll that was average at best—nothing special (3 stars). I recommend sticking with their udon! The highlights of our dinner included: - **Veggie Tempura:** A nice variety of vegetables fried to perfection. My review from 3 years ago also praised their tempura, particularly the Japanese pumpkin (4 stars). - **Yakitori Skewers:** A pleasant surprise; instead of just chicken skewers, we received marinated chicken mixed with grilled vegetables. This was a tasty dish, with the meat and veggies cooked well and exhibiting good char-grilled flavors (4 stars). - **Nigiri (10 pieces):** The fish was fresh, and while the rice was seasoned, it was a bit more compact than I prefer—but still not bad. The complimentary side salad and miso soup were surprisingly decent (4 stars). Overall, Fish on Fire is a solid Japanese restaurant that offers sushi, sashimi, and more. They seem to shine in their tempura, yakitori, and udon (which we regretted not ordering!). I’m maintaining a 4-star rating.
I shared several photos of the Signature Combo, which included a couple of appetizers—specifically a tempura ika karaage combo. We received 16 pieces of sashimi chosen by the chef, plus 12 sushi pieces, also the chef's selection. The special rolls featured the Mt. Fuji with grilled beef teriyaki, along with your choice of two udon dishes. The fish pieces were large, fresh, and packed with flavor. While the menu can be a bit expensive, it's definitely worth it, especially with the Groupon deal we took advantage of, which allowed us to get a discounted gift certificate for Fish on Fire. The next time a Groupon deal is available, we will certainly order that again and enjoy another meal here!
The waitress kindly let me choose my seat, which I picked in a cozy corner by the front window. It was the only seat in that spot, and I relished the opportunity to have my back to the rest of the restaurant, ensuring my lunch break was free from distractions. I started with the Maguro Sashimi, which was of exceptional quality, boasting a vibrant red color that made my mouth water. It was served with a light and standard salad that you would expect at a place like this. For the main course, I was presented with a generous bowl of Seafood Udon, and it was a feast for the eyes. The seafood was fresh, and I couldn’t have asked for a better mix. The mussels stood out as the highlight; they were huge and incredibly delicious. By the end of my meal, I was pleasantly sweating from the experience—it was a monumental lunch, and I truly needed it. The waitress checked in to see if everything was okay, and I could happily assure her that it was more than just okay—it was fantastic. Now that the weather has warmed up, I'm a bit disappointed because I would probably eat here every other day. Every day might be too much, but for the first time, I'm actually looking forward to cooler weather or another stressful day so that I have an excuse to indulge in this comforting bowl of happiness again.
A rare 5 rating from me, this place has amazingly fresh food, creative combinations, and variety of food udons, sushi, rice plates, etc). Set up as a hole-in-the-wall, this rating hinges on 2 things: great food and super friendly service. GREAT FOOD: -love the variety and strange combinations. Lots of spicy rolls too... yum! -Drunken dragon is fantastic: flambé roll with gives it a slightly cooked texture and allow the flavors to mix. Plus a fun experience!!! -They have a good kids special for those 12 and under that makes going out with the family less financially burdensome. We paid a bit more for Chicken Katsu, and it was probably the best Panko breaded chicken fillet the kids have ever had they made sure to let us know). we hear the Chicken teriyaki is also good. Kids bento box comes with California rolls and 4 gyozas. Score! -They have a draft mini fridge looking thing. Freshly served Sapporo was delish. -For dessert, we got the classic mochi: mango and strawberry! FRIENDLY SERVICE: Hey, we waited 35 mins to be seated, but we always felt welcome, like good old friends. Looks like it is a family owned business husband and wife, maybe one of the servers is family), and they strive to make people happy. Frequently check to make sure you're doing great, and genuinely hoping you enjoy the food. What to expect: -The place is quite small, sitting area does not offer lots of space, so you'll dine close to strangers. No worries, the crowd that comes here are families and young professionals, all very nice. -You will likely have to wait for a table we went on a Friday night and waited 35 mins for our turn). There will be a clipboard up front where you can wrote down your name on the list and wait patiently. No space/sitting area to wait BTW. -Lots of orders to go which may slow down your dine-in orders. While we were there, at least 4 families came in, picked up bags and left. Seems like some local regulars. -Its location is good, within a nice r) suburbia strip mall. However parking is scarce, so you may need to circle around a couple of times. There are other restaurants and a gym in this mall which seems to make it a hot destination on weekend nights. Drunken dragon: my fave.

We arrived at 5:30pm they open at 5pm. 5:40pm no tables left..wait time 45m
