Fat Maddie’s Blackhawk - Danville

Maybe i ordered the wrong thing because there are a ton of good reviews. Anyway I got a shrimp salad, it was 90% lettuce and 2 small slices of carrot and 2 small slices of cucumber and a tiny amount of shrimp. It was very underwhelming. No one else seemed excited about their food either and my family will not be returning. Too bad, it's a pretty location.

Service was terrible server complained the entire time about how he had to show up at 8 am to start his shift. The food was slow to be made and tasted only so so. The icing on the cake was when we received the bill we were charged for another table's beverages (after we told him, our server did correct the bill).

OK, I'm going to try to help this restaurant out. For some reason, mgmt here has a strong aversion to menus (and Yelp) so I'm going to post their latest menus here for Yelpers. Oddly, they don't have any menus on their web site, the ones on Yelp are old, they have no online ordering system or app, they also have no take out menus, and when you call the staff does not really know what's on menu and they just changed it a few months ago. So customers ordering take out are flying blind. When I asked the mgr why they had no menus available for take out customers or even online to review before ordering she looked at me like I was a crazy person. And the restaurant was nearly empty! I think the mgmt team needs to go back and take the Intro to Running a Restaurant class 101. Anyway, here the menus. Finally, the food was excellent esp the NY steak and the mushroom risotto w/ chicken and broccoli. Even without a menu at least I know what to order next time!

We went there for brunch. Food service and ambiance are all great. Will try to make happy hour one of these days.

The food is great! The cocktails are fantastic and they accommodate seating you wherever you want. Greek night was a blast! Dancing and great food!
