The Steakhouse - Dalton-in-Furness

The drinks are very expensive. the service and eating were great, but we had problems with the fact that we had booked a sit down menu for our christmas, we ended up a bavarian buffet with numerous other parties there. the music was much too loud, the band at the end was really good, but because of that we could not hear for the whole evening instead of just the end with the band. I would go again as the personal was beautiful, but only for a meal in the restaurant what we wanted.

After a very long drive in the dark with mist and rain finally arriving at the Chequers Hotel, which was all lit up, was a great relief. Charlotte, part of the family that owns the hotel, greeted me warmly and even though I had arrived too late for the restaurant still be open Charlotte was more than happy to make me a homemade sandwich if I wished. After checking in the room was a lovely surprise. Very clean and nicely laid out. The bathroom was particularly nice. Breakfast was made to order which I cannot afford. Just a shame that I was only there for such a short period of time. Will definitely be going back

For business travelers: this is a lovely establishment that offers excellent value for money. The room I stayed in was of a generous size, very clean, and well-equipped with amenities. I particularly enjoyed the use of a traditional key instead of a magnetic card! However, I suggest that the hotel install a light outside the door to make it easier to see the keyhole in the dark. The restaurant and bar are quite nice, featuring beautiful decor and great facilities for watching sports. The menu is satisfactory, and the portion sizes are generous. The bed was comfortable, although I could hear the footsteps of the guests in the room above me, which was a minor drawback. Overall, I would rate it a solid 4 out of 5.

The quality of the food and service is undeniable. While it is somewhat pricier than other restaurants in the area, it is definitely worth it. We ordered the sharing platter along with two extra dishes for three of us, and we couldn't finish it all! Everything was really delicious. The staff was friendly and wonderful with my young son as well. The atmosphere was warm and very family-friendly.

The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were quite generous for the price. It was peaceful when we arrived, as we got there early for dinner. The service was great; our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely come back.
