Bidrage med feedbackWait was not long to take place as long as a reservation was made. I don't love the bar seats because the stool seemed kind of rickety. but I am the best in my life. I'm sure I'm going back!
Restaurant is open and noisy. High chairs not very comfortable to sit long. Food is good but not great. Value isn’t very good for appetizers. Bruschetta was very small for an appetizer.
We arrived early and were seated early. Our server was nice and we got water and our wine promptly. We ordered an appetizer and although it was good, for all of the fanfare of this restaurant I have had much better for a lot less. We ordered our meal and when it arrived mine was wrong and both were lukewarm as if they had been heated in the microwave. We sent them back to essentially be heated up again. The kitchen just didn’t look like there was much going on and there was no aroma from the kitchen at all. They promised to make my order, but I still waited at least 10 min after the reheated meals came beck to our table. My meal finally arrived but I was no longer hungry. My meal was the largest portion size. The presentation was very plain and underwhelming. The manager felt bad and did comp my meal and gave us dessert. Honestly the only reason to eat here is for the lemoncello tiramisu. I was really sad our experience was so disappointing, but I think I’ll stick to the hole in the wall Italian places way better food for the money. The manager was very apologetic and I realize that mistakes happen, it just the sauces weren’t that great.
Granted, it was 1 PM on a Friday, but the food was not good at all. The salad tasted as if it had been sitting with the dressing since morning, the bruchetta was disgusting, and the pasta was way overcooked with a bland sauce. Will not be back.
Cute little pasta bar inside Eataly. We got the Zucchini spread appetizer which was not all that great. For our entrees, we tried the special—the Hatch Chile Caramelle which was very rich with goat cheese, garlic, honey, and butter sauce. Our server said it was very similar to the richness of lasagna. It was pretty good but can get overwhelming. Good thing the dish was not too big, but if I’m being honest, 7 pieces of caramelle pasta for $21+ was a huge rip off. We also tried the Tagliatella Alla Bolognese and it was probably the worst Bolognese I have ever had. It was super dry and the sauce tasted very bland. The pasta did not taste like fresh pasta and I was very disappointed. The last time I tried the pasta at Eataly, it was in Chicago and their pasta dishes were a lot more fresh and flavorful. Dallas definitely has a lot of catching up to do. Ambiance was very casual and service was great. Our host and server were incredibly sweet and knowledgeable when asked about the menu options. This is a very cute place for dinner and people watching, but the food was not what I thought it would be. I will not be coming back, but I really hope they will add another restaurant or fix this menu because I’ve always loved going to Eataly in New York and Chicago.
