Bidrage med feedbackTo sample a variety of BBQ options, our group decided to share several mixed plates. This mixed dish included steamed rice, grilled vegetables, chicken and pork skewers, chicken legs, beef short ribs, and pork spare ribs. Typically priced at $9.95, the mixed plate is available for just $7.95 on Saturdays. The first item I tried was the Boneless Chicken Thighs, marinated in a blend of spices and hoisin sauce. Unfortunately, I found the marinade a bit too sweet for my taste. Next was the Beef Short Ribs, marinated in a soy-based sauce with ginger. While it was a good dish, I felt it could have used a bit more ginger to enhance the flavor. Then I sampled the Pork Spare Ribs, which were marinated in a zesty combination of lemon and lime juices alongside garlic and other spices. I was completely impressed. The meat was tender and practically fell off the bone, with a delightful tanginess that made it truly enjoyable. These ribs are definitely a must-order! As for the skewers, I didn’t realize there were actually two different types on the plate, so I missed out on tasting the chicken skewer. However, I did try the Pork Skewer, which featured a unique marinade of spices, brown sugar, and ginger—absolutely delicious! It reminded me of traditional Filipino BBQ, which is usually served on skewers. Our curiosity was piqued by the Grilled Cornish Hens glazed with pineapple on the menu, so we decided to order those as well. I’m so glad we did! Along with the Pork Ribs, the chicken was a highlight. It was tender, juicy, and packed with tropical flavors. For dessert, we tried the simply named yellow cake, which was moist and topped with a light sugar glaze that made it even more enticing. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Cambinos. While there were a few minor hiccups, the standout dishes made it all worthwhile. I’m even planning to take more family members there for a meal. If you find yourself in the Cypress area, I highly recommend checking it out—especially for the ribs. Yum!
