The first time I walked in, I was on my work break and only had about 25 minutes to order. I walked in and to my delight, there was no line. But I was almost immediately aware of why that was--not only were there 6 or 7 employees behind the counter, chopping vegetables and making dressings... but not ONE of them greeted me in any way or even acknowledged a customer was in the shop. I walked closer. Maybe they didn't see me. I waited for a solid 3 minutes before I realized I didn't have the time to waste waiting on them to do their job. So I came back today and was greeted promptly. I ordered my salad and employee making the salad could not have been more distracted--talking to other employees, speeding down the line. Needless to say, the salad was lackluster but your best bet is to order online to save yourself from the deplorable (but at least consistently so) service.
I am not a salad person but SweetGreen is changing my mind. They have a variety of tasty food and do a great job at making it filling. They have great focaccia bread and warm quinoa bowls for dinner time. With all of their dressings and sauces, the typically boring salad really comes to life.
Food is pretty consistent at all locations. What is also consistent is the rude, cavalier attitude from all its Gen Z employees. Across every location, the employees act as if the customers were a nuisance take their sweet time to stop socializing before they help you. Although the food is decent, I try to limit my visits due to the generally bad customer service.
Food was really good. Service was not so good. The person who served us, Fernando, was very rude. Not sure what his issue was, just hope it wasn’t racially based. He was very skimpy with our dish as compared to every other time my family has eaten there…also compared to the person who he just served in front of us. When we asked if he can add a little more lettuce and tofu, he responded “we don’t do that here”. We said that this is quite a bit less than the amount we are normally given and if necessary, we will pay for the extra. He once again repeated himself very abruptly and with a rude demeanor. His coworker picked up on his attitude and jumped in to try and salvage the situation. She was very helpful and we ended up getting the amount of food we wanted and paid for it. Even after we got through that Fernando seemed very irritated. We go our food and ate then left. I doubt me and my family will be back as long as he is there. The outside dining area was very dirty as well. To be on this area and cost what it does, I think the manager, owner needs to keep this place much cleaner…and hire better help!
