Bidrage med feedbackI been a Faisán costume for a long time, tonight we found that there were a new capitán. This new guy do not know how to treat the costumer, he feels that he is the owner of the restaurant. He was rude and un polite.
The food from Yucatan is very diferent from the rest of Mexican food , unique flavors very well prepared with excelent products all dishes are delicios , the only thing i didnt like is the Tortillas , i bet they could do better if they dont heat them in the microwave , actualy will be top of the list if they will do torillas by hand !
We are here today for a pre Christmas lunch in a pleasant back terrace of typical Yucatecan cuisine in Cuernavaca, one hour drive from Mexico City. I have been several times here for various reasons, including work as this is a favorite place to take our academic guests at my Institute. Lately we come just with friends and partners to enjoy the pleasant athmosphere of the terrace and the reliably good food. In the picture attached you see my favorite main dish, ‘pollo al pebre’ (Chicken in vegetable source including olives, safran, other mediterranean ingredients mixed with Yucatecan herbs including the non pepper ‘pebre’ a mix clearly invented by Spanish colonialists, not Mayans... . It is accompanied by a zafran rice with herbs which matches the favor of the main plate for additional flavoring there are fantastic habanero sources. My partner has enjoyed instead papadzules , a very sophisticated dish fully vegetarian, also typical of Yucatecan cuisine. But the choice of dishes is enormous and today Sunday is further enriched by their special roast lechon. In sum, a place that never disappoints in quality and safety of Mexican food, in a pleasant ambiance. Drinks choice will be all yours!
I loved the food. There are some unusual menu choices, but all are wonderful. I had the venison soup and suckling pig (pulled pork) The staff are welcoming and helpful and can happily recommend this well established restaurant.
Faisan means pheasant so I ordered the pheasant despite the high price of 31 USD. It was unidentifiable as fowl, white meat floating in a sauce of pumpkin seeds. It was edible, but not good. Included was luke warm chicken soup, with rubbery stringy white meat which was awful. My friend ordered venison and complained it was tough like leather. One ordered a baked potato with sour cream and was pleased. The Hamburger plate looked fine. Fried onion rings were scrumptious, the best ever. For a Mexican restaurant the decor was ordinary, all plastic and glass. Very few customers. The bathrooms were clean. Service was good.
