Quebracho Condesa - Cuauhtémoc

Incredible! buenos aires was the first place where I had traveled to the country and had a big place in my heart. quebracho had great empanadas, the closest to whom I had in ba.

And if you do, wow zowie. we shared (4 people) a huge sampler of bark meat, salads, a bottle of wine and many dishes of tequila and beer all for less than 150 US dollars. the funnel was the 7-part Mariachi band that played out lighter. for us. what an amazing experience! great eating, FREE service, all round wonderful evening.

We were slightly apprehensive after reading reviews but for no reason. After 3 weeks touring Mexico this was the best steak we had. Genuine Argentinian cuts and flavours. It’s not cheap for Mexico but it’s worth it if you want char grilled flavour and texture.

We enjoyed our dinner here. Both ordered a rib eye (400g, MXP 450) shared a bottle of wine (we got a Mexican Syrah which was 300 MXP, but they had a lot of Argentinian wine too). Service was good and they did well with...our poor Spanish together with English menu, showing us the meat and then different photos for how the meat would be cooked for medium, rare etc. Meat was lovely and beautifully cooked. My small gripe would be my steak had close to 100g of fat in it (yes it was a rib eye but still this seems a lot). However, my partner who also had a rib eye had at least half less, which I thought was more reasonable. Also the side of mash is quite big so even though they say it’s for one, together w a giant steak, we would have been better to just order one to share. Pretty good but definitely not cheap as some reviews suggest.

Salad was large. Iceberg lettuce and large chunks of barely ripe tomato and onion in a base of mostly oil and very little balsamic vinegar and no salt! Flat and had no taste. Lemonade had no sugar and was very strong. Even after asking for...sugar, the waiter should have give me sugar to add. He took it, and still was lacking. Butter was served hard and cold. Medium rare steak was served rare. Done fine on one side, and barely cooked less than 20 seconds on the opposite side! Grilled chicken was ok. Waiter pressed me to order a larger steak, and really pushed us for desert. I don't like pressure. End result, bad salad, bad drink, poorly cooked steak, too much pressure, hard cold butter, no salt at the table... not as expected.
