The Fox Hole - Croydon

So happy that Dog and Bull reopened after all the construction and has totally revitalized their menu options. What an amazing return visit this past Friday night. To start off the night, two beers from their very large list the Estock white ale for me and the spellbound cherry Tripel for my wife, both very good easy drinking beers with our meal . We kicked off the night with an appetizer of the meatballs and Barata what a pleasant surprise. First of we love an awesome meatball, and this clearly fits that category right texture not too hard not too soft not too breadcrumb me. It was a little surprising. The Barada was cold, but it seem to work , grilled pieces of bread they were heavenly light For our main course, my wife had the green chili smothered burrito which she took half home. It was so large, but more importantly, she definitely enjoyed the flavor and then I ordered the grilled pork chop and based on our recommendations, I got both topping options. One was like a compote of sweet fruit, and the other was the horseradish type gravy, and it really was a nice blend together. The meat was cooked, perfectly, tender and juicy . And we took home and enjoyed later on in order of the Carmel apple bread, pudding with coffee it was yummy .

My gf and I are here for brunch the other morning. She has to order gluten and dairy free products. The chef and waiter were more than able to accommodate her dietary restrictions. I are the eggs Benedict with biscuits and gravy. It's was allllll this pregnant girl could ever ask for. Baby and I were both happy! It's a smaller brunch place, only a few tables. But the service was wonderful! And our waiter (I apologize I forget his name) was knowledgeable and helpful.esp with the allergy restrictions

What an awesome upgrade! Have not been here since the remodel and wow what an upgrade. The inside is awesome and inviting. The outside areas are great as well. Add in fantastic service, great beer selection and great food.... perfect combo for a great night out.

Dog and Bull has been under construction and this time going I could really see how much has changed. I'm exited for the outside area to be finished. The wings and pork belly appetizer were really good. I also enjoyed my entree.

Everything was so great I came back the next night for round two... As I was alone, I sat at the bar and the services was outstanding without being overwhelming. Since it was my first time I asked for a recommendation and had the cheddar ale bacon burger, and it was cooked to perfection as were the fries (I used malted vinegar and not ketchup). On the second night I had the Horseradish Patty Melt, which was a bit overcooked, but not unacceptable. That said, I almost wised I had had the Cheddar burger again... The value for both meals was acceptable, and I would highly recommend stopping for dinner and or just a cocktail... Great job to all at Dog Bull.
