Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I ate at Double Musky while staying in Girdwood. We arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before they opened and we were the fourth or fifth party in line. We ordered the Pepper Steak Tips for an appetizer, I ordered the Crab Stuffed Halibut with Steamed Veggies and my wife ordered the Garlic Seafood Pasta. Let me preface the food review by saying we are from Louisiana and eat cajun food regularly. The Pepper Steak Tips were just okay, and for the price should have tasted a lot better. The stuffed Halibut was good, the fish was very flaky and wasn't fishy at all just a tad bland. The stuffing was pretty good, a little on the bland side as well. It would have been really good if it would have been cheaper, however for the price I expected more. My wife's pasta was very good once she added a little salt and pepper. It was by far the better of the two meals and if we went back I would order it again. The way the restaurant is setup, it gets very loud and we were unable to have much conversation. The decor is very unique, it reminded me a lot of being in a antique store. The service was good and our waitress took good care of us. I understand that prices in Alaska are higher and fresh food isn't cheap, but the cost versus quality just isn't there. For people who haven't eaten food in Louisiana or had a mom that cooked some good down home cooking, this place is good. But for those of us that have, don't get your hopes up when going to Double Musky.
We were here for our 16th Wedding Anniversary many years ago. Back for our 45th! Always enjoyable. Don't remember how much we spent back then. I'm sure it was less than our most recent visit. Although, food was as great this time as it was years ago.
This place is flipping amazing. Food was divine. Cajun was spot on. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Quite expensive , a great special occasion spot. The Double Musky pie and the Cajun pudding pie thing were fantastic. My group had a French pepper steak, garlic seafood pasta, and shrimp etouffee. Appetizers were escargot stuffed mushrooms and the cheesy jalapeño shrimp dip. 1000% would go back. Pro tip: be in line outside 30-45 minutes before they open.
The wait is worth it! This place is amazing food. The prime Rib was perfect! And the salmon was amazing. For dessert we had a fresh blueberry pie with seemed like a cheesecake layer on top. Topped with whipped cream. Love this place 10/10 would come here again.
I 've lived in Alaska way too long to have never tried Double Musky until now! We visited for our 6th wedding anniversary and it was lovely. The building screams Alaskana and so does the staff. There 's a sign on the main road pointing you the right way down to a seemingly small cabin with a great garden outside. We were seated immediately, and the staff was lovely and attentive. The food is a little spendy but totally worth it. Don 't let the prices fool you though the dress code is definitely Alaska Chic so wipe down your Xtra tuffs and put on your best Patagonia vest, you 'll fit right in. My spouse ordered a steak, which he proclaimed to be the best steak he 's had in Alaska and I ordered the crab stuffed halibut. The portions were generous and our meal came with deliciously fresh baked bread. We shared a slice of cheesecake at the end and had some delicious cocktails as well. I ordered the margarita it was unique from your classic marg, but weirdly fit the meal perfectly. If you 've got the time and the cash, Double Musky is definitely a must while in Girdwood!
