Bidrage med feedbackMy friends and I had a similar experience to Sursum1, which is why our review has the same title. We had out-of-town visitors staying at the campground in the state park, so we decided to go to Stagecoach since it was conveniently close by. After placing our drink order, a self-proclaimed regular customer approached our table and praised the food, claiming that this restaurant was the best in the area. We started with appetizers and assumed our salads would come next, but we ended up waiting for what felt like an eternity. After reminding our server to check on our food, the appetizers finally arrived. More time passed before our entrees were served, although they were lukewarm at best. Soon after, our salads and soup were brought out. One of our friends had ordered the special of the night, Lasagna, which was the last one available and took even longer to arrive. Our server was friendly, but it seemed like the kitchen was either understaffed or overbooked. We were informed that this wouldn't have happened on a weeknight. Despite having a reservation, the service was disappointing. While the food was decent, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The server, however, was exceptional.
We went in for lunch. It was delicious. We were seated right away, took a little of time to get our drinks. Service was great. Portions were very large and filling. We were even checked up on by the owner, nice touch. It's so cool the way they turned a house into a restaurant. All the small rooms and decor give it so much character.
We had a reservation and were immediately seated. We ordered and then waited an hour and a half for food. They were so short staffed so I don't blame the waitress but that was too long. Then at the end of an hour the waitress came to the table to tell my husband they were out of what he ordered. He asked her what would be the quickest and he ordered it. A pasta in a mushroom sauce. Lots of mushrooms which he doesn't even like. Not her fault. We ordered the appetizer of spinach cakes in blue cheese sauce. Best thing we got but needed about 3 times as much sauce. Two of us got a sweet and sour chicken dish with mashed potatoes and Carmalized onions. Chicken was too tough to eat but the rest of the meal was delicious. Son-in-law says pasta is homemade. All entrees come with a very small salad or soup. Homemade salad dressing is just ok. Prices are very reasonable. Most entrees about $15. Out table did not order the pizza but the one next to us did and crust was soggy and not brown on bottom but it did have plenty of toppings. Don't know if I would come back.
This place is awesome! Very nice people, great service and excellent food. It is nice for a weekly lunch or a special occasion dinner. We are retired and appreciate the quiet atmosphere.
My last review of this restaurant was in October of 2019 and we have dined at stagecoach several times since then. The quality of the food has pretty much stayed the same... excellent. We made evening reservations the morning of. We were told that if we wanted wine that we could bring our own Looking forward to some relaxing drinks and fine dinner after a long hard and record breaking hot work day. We arrived at 700 pm and it took a few minutes for them to prepare our table. While waiting at the entrance on the lower level we noticed that the bar was completely vacant and no alcohol on display, much less a bartender on duty. At this point we realize they probably do not served mixed drinks any longer. We also noticed one of the servers attempting to adjust the air-conditioning thermostat. Our table was on the upper level across the room from the kitchen facing the platting area . After being seated it was about ten minutes before the menus were brought to the table and asked what we would like to drink. No liquor or wine, just select imported beers. we ordered ice tea with lots of ice. After a few minutes, we decided to get the Large Stagecoach sampler for starters. We decided to wait until our appetizer was served before ordering our main entree. We really enjoyed the sampler for all the different meats and cheeses to try. My iced tea went down pretty fast, our area was passed several times before we flagged our waitress down to ask for more tea, 20 minutes later a different person refilled both our glasses with warm tea and no ice. We asked for a glass of ice. 10 minutes later, she brought out a small glass of ice, not enough to fill half of one glass. It was getting warm on the second level and we were out of tea and ice. one of the chefs was checking the A/C vents to see if it was blowing. We had our empty glasses sitting promantly at the edge of the table in front of our empty sampler plates. Now we are both getting hotter, thirstier and frustrated (so much for a relaxing dinner). 30 minutes later the same person who got our small glass of ice took our empty sampler plates and said she would get us some more tea in a minute). My house salad arrives and seems to have no dressing at all. My wifes greek salad arrived and was warm, we mentioned this to the waitress and she said it was because the tomatoes are the same ones cut or out from this morning and they got hot. My main entree anchovy and onion pasta arrived, It was awesome. My wife mentioned that she saw our waitress making the greek salad at the platting area with her bare hands. I realize the restaurant may be short handed and the wait help my be multitasking to make up for the shortage.of personnel but primary reason of the restaurant is to serve the customers needs. priority of the restaurant is to serve, which includes refilling empty glasses in reasonable amount of time. If a customer has to wait 45 minutes to have their tea glass refilled it means the wait help is busing doing other things and not checking on their tables near enough. Overtaxed wait help and over taxed air-conditioning equals an underserved customer
