Bidrage med feedbackFood and service were exceptional . Room needs a refresh as woodwork was scratched/dinged. Had tasting menu. Was super expensive $340) for a couple. But was worth the one time experience celebrating a milestone birthday. Drink were delicious wine selection very good. If you don't mind the expense this is well worth a trip.
We had the tasting menu. The food was very good, verging on outstanding, but we can get similarly great food elsewhere in Boston for one third to one half the price. The service was perhaps a cut above, but a little laggy and no one asked us about after dinner drinks or coffee until after our dessert had been served harder to forgive at these prices. No 9 is a great restaurant, but other great Boston restaurants are such a better value that we'll probably only come back to No 9 for cocktails.
We had a great celebration meal, with seafood platter, more oysters, and the lamb or the quail, and of course, the prune gnocchi. Service was attentive and the food was great. It's a prime location downtown, near the Commons-we walked from our hotel. What a treat.
Was quite good. However, some room for improvement... not sure why we had so many different servers, and because the level of noise and the closeness of the tables, we had difficulty understanding their explanations of each plate. Loved the prune filled gnocchi! Loved the raviolis! Did not care much for the pork belly. I would tone it down a bit on the sugar for the desserts, to be able to appreciate other flavors. The birthday celebratory platters were really nice. The cocktail was great, and the wine was excellent!
Would not recommend. Ate a la carte and both the starter (salmon crudo) and main (bass) were underwhelming. It took so long to get my first dish that I thought they forgot to put the order in the man next to me ordered after me and received his food well before I did.
