Flat Black Coffee Company - Crossing

I ordered an iced lavender latte, as I'm a big fan of lavender flavor, and settled into the café on a rainy afternoon. The lavender flavor was spot on, but the milk tasted a bit strange to me. Since I don't consume much dairy and have only recently moved to the US, it could just be that I'm not used to the taste. Even though it was Tuesday afternoon, the café was quite busy, so we ended up sitting at the bar. This might not be the best spot for working, as the area has a lot of fans running, but I heard they are planning to move to a new location soon.

I initially intended to visit Flatback, but it was closed. Instead, I ended up at Starbucks, which might not be the best approach for the smaller businesses.

I absolutely love the interior; it’s no wonder it’s located in a building designed by an architect—it's stunning. However, I was disappointed when I tried their chai, as it turned out to be sweet and made from a mix. Given the high standards they maintain for coffee, I expected the same level of quality for their tea.

I dropped by on an early, rainy morning for a cup of mocha, and it truly brightened my day with both its presentation and flavor. The foam was thick and creamy. The barista who prepared my drink really seemed to take pleasure in his work and did a fantastic job. I hope all their staff share the same passion!

This coffee shop in the financial district is a solid choice. I ordered a latte, and while the latte art wasn't noteworthy, the drink itself more than made up for it. I appreciated the clear cups, which allowed me to observe the rich, smooth consistency of the beverage. The texture was pleasantly thick, avoiding that watery quality I've encountered at other Boston coffee shops where the milk-to-water ratio was off. The balance at Flat Black was just right.
