Beneventos - Crossing

I made reservations days in advance for an early dinner for my daughter’s 10th birthday. When we arrived we were brought to the basement of the restaurant where we were the only patrons. The basement smelled of bathroom and bleach. We were sat across from the bathrooms (about 3 feet away) and next to the kitchen, the door covered by a curtain. This was absolutely not the experience we were looking for. The hostess told us she could seat us upstairs in 25 minutes so we agreed. She was then able to seat us right away at the front of the restaurant. From the basement to the best seat in the house in 2 minutes. We sat and were then surprised by lack of cleanliness. I pulled a hair off the fork at my table setting and my daughter’s plate had leftover sauce and chunks of something. So we left. I hear the food is very good but I can’t speak to the quality because I couldn’t trust it after these experiences. We went to Antico Forno and had a delicious meal at a clean table in a restaurant with great, authentic atmosphere.

Worst pizza of my life! I do not recommend this location. I ordered 3 types of pizza and they all tasted the same. One contained 4 types of cheese, but this one didn't exist and it also had tomato sauce. Not even a difference.! The dough is very dry like bread. better to go to the supermarket and buy breadsticks and breadsticks with that money.

We had Lil Joey, Margherita and Quattro Formaggio.The Lil Joey was very dry and quite tasteless. The Quattro Formaggio looked like a plain simple Margherita with just a few gorgonzola drops on it. I was surprised judging by the reviews but it happens. My whole family found the pizzas subpar. Wouldn't really recommend it! Better wait in line for other restaurants nearby ?

My experience with beneventos was definitely wanting, largely all due to our table location, and a few other thingsMy party of 3 originally had a reservation at 7, but ended up showing up much earlier at around 5:30. They were definitely busy, but the hostess was super friendly, and seated us right away. Little did we know, we would get the table all the way in the back of the restaurant; where all the staff traffic was, dirty dishes, storage, emergency exit door, under a small unused television. Definitely the server station table (where they prep napkins and silverware and menus, etc). Dust dust dust everywhere, most concerningly right above our heads on the Exit sign, and various overhead machinery.Additionally, the menus had very noticeable mold on the inside of them. This was made aware to our waitress, who received it positively.One last recommendation, a nice Italian restaurant should serve bread with real spreading butter and olive oil, not butter in diner take-out packets...Aside from our awful table location, mold in the menus, and cheap butter, the food and drinks were fantastic, and our server was friendly and awesome. Would highly recommend the Veal Parmigiana.

Pizza was good, many options. Meatballs were our best choice. It’s a great little space, dimly lit, nice ambiance. Service was pleasant and food came out fairly quickly. Nice stop for a quick lunch.
