The Kitchen Cromwell

Absolutely delicious savoury muffin I’ve ever had and lovely lemon yogurt cake. The almond hot chocolate and almond flat white were amazing. My hubby too really enjoyed his two flat whites. Highly recommend this cafe with friendly polite staff.

Food and coffee are so tasty, which really surprised me as they are in a small town. They use the well-known Underground coffee beans roasted in Christchurch and the barista knows what she is doing. Staff are more than friendly and helpful with lovely smiles. My parents are from Asia and they even loved the food. Such a gem in a nice and cozy town. Great for families to drop in and enjoy the amazing food and hospitality.

New Zealand knows how to do breakfast/brunch. These dishes were so delicious it was wrong. Coffee was also amazing. Flat white's because our default order by the end of our trip to NZ!

Cozy cafe with great options for gluten and/or dairy free dietary requirements. The staff are lovely, too!

Great little cafe. Fresh ingredients and a good variety of food options, also has all the staple coffee and tea lattes you 'd expect to find at any cafe. The only reason I took off one star is because of their hours of operation. By 2:30pm, they 've already got all their food put away and are serving only drinks, even though they 'close ' at 3:00. This is way too early! What if a local is strolling past at 4 or 5pm and feels like a coffee? You 're missing out on a nice niche market of folks who like their coffee and a bite in the late afternoon. That being said, a nice place and we visit often.
