Pension Izabel was once a very busy place on Romania’s busiest road and the oversized parking place gives it away the kind of hungry people it had to cater for. However, with the inauguration of the nearby motorway the place had to reinvent itself and did it successfully. The hotel is well placed with close access to the motorway as well as a gateway to exploring the wonderful mountains in the Sibiu countyThe rooms are very clean fitted with new furniture and new appliances and the staff is friendly and helpful. The real attraction of the place is the restaurant with its own meat processing facility that produces local sausages and other goodies for meat lovers. Things like “the sausage wheelbarrow”, “the meatballs wheelbarrow” or the “chevalier’s meat sword” leaves little for imagination…this is the meat-lovers’ heaven.

I heard about this place- as clean, welcoming, good food - nice for a stop.And I wanted to try it.Unfortunately, after the good weather passed.Anyhow, we slept and have dinner and breakfast there.Small but nice decorated rooms, good bathroom, clean room and bath, very nice staff.A very nice terrace outside must be fully appreciated during the summerI understand that the products of all kind of meat are produced and prepared by themselves. And we bought some of them to take home.We had a very good dinner- the portions were huge and tasty.The breakfast was decent- not as good as dinner because the cook cames only after 11.The only unpleasant thing were the flies.Must try it, anyhow!

In Romanian there is a saying: "To the praised tree does not go with the bag". We went with high expectations but: thousands of flies and not be able to order food from the menu. Asa ca nu il recomand. E de evitat.

A little bit cold inside ,but the food was great! I recomand you "muschi de porc sibian" . The restaurant is clean and the personal is kind.

The place is decorated with a lot of good taste and the food that we've tried is quite good. Nice terrace, friendly staff. The "Izabel" potatoes are absolutely delicious. The terrace is nice, but just a bit noisy from the national traffic nearby. However, it is far enough from the road not to pose a major problem.
