Taverna Garden - crete

We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. For starters, we enjoyed the vegetable rolls, followed by the stifado and moussaka. There were several other options on the menu that we could have chosen from. The food was delicious and the owners were very charming.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere, the location, the food, and the owner, Julia, were all fantastic. I enjoyed the vegan moussaka, flogeres, and stifado, all of which were delicious. Although the homemade brownie was sold out, we were given a traditional dessert as a gift. I highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We got the vegan stifado and vegan moussaka. Both delicious. Unfortunatly the vegan brownie wasnt prepared, but we were assured that it would be tomorrow.

We were seated in the lovely garden, shaded by large trees which created a peaceful atmosphere. The waitress and owner, Julia, was very welcoming and accommodating. She made sure to confirm if my partner was vegan before taking our orders, ensuring everything was correct. The traditional Greek food was exceptional, with a menu that offers mostly vegetarian and vegan options, clearly marked with "v" for vegetarian and "vg" for vegan. The vegan Moussaka was particularly outstanding. The dishes were not just typical recipes with substitutions, but well-rounded creations bursting with flavor. The meat dishes were also fantastic, making it a great spot for groups with different dietary preferences. I would have given Taverna Garden a full 5 stars, but unfortunately, Happy Cow only allows a maximum of 4 stars for restaurants that are not fully vegetarian/vegan.

Lovely to sit outside and great service so considerate. (Brought grated vegan cheese for the pasta and a fruit platter on the house as desert for me) Food was delicious! and more options than just pasta although the bolo was delicious. We loved everything and it wasn’t expensive. I would recommend to go there. Updated from previous review on 2022 10 05
