Chip Ahoy - Cowes

We had driven past this takeaway and seen the queues outside so thought we should give it a try. Popped in just after and only two other customers in front which was a surprise. Ordered sausage and chips to take away as it was...a lovely evening in Cowes. The food was piping hot which was encouraging. Drove a couple of minutes to the seafront to enjoy our food. Oh dear. Very undercooked chips that were very soggy (couldn’t pick them up with a chip fork) and not very nice at all! Looks like a few extra minutes cooking was needed. Sausage was ok but again, very soggy and no snap to the casing. Overall this was very disappointing and sadly we won’t be trying Chips Ahoy again anytime soon. Come on Chips Ahoy this is pretty simple stuff! Surely you can chips properly?

Great to be back in Cowes and wonderful to find Chip Ahoy has reopened. We just had fabulous fish&chips and fishcakes&chips. We had the small portions but any bigger and we’d need larger plates! Lovely food and you certainly get your money’s worth!

We always used this chip shop until it closed a few months ago, recently it re-opened and we couldn't wait to get our fish and chips. The fist meal we had was not brilliant but tonight we thought we'd give then the benefit of the...doubt and tried again. The food was cold and inedible with half cooked chips. Very disappointed

We were looking for fish and chips to take away and we just happen to find this little delight . The fish was cooked to order we had four cooked three haddock and one cod and all were absolutely lovely as were the...chips. Large portion was enough for four adults.
