Been using this take away for 25 years, its now changed owners at least once in the last 5 years and the new owners have decided that doubling the size of the kitchen and delivery is the way to go. I always collect and the food is usually ready 15 minutes after ordering. however the last couple of times I have been the rice tastes like it has been pre-prepared, possibly sitting in the time for hours, the size of the portions is shrinking, dishes that came in large tubs now come in smaller tubs, the prices keep going up, possibly 2 or three times a year and the food quality is poor. We had chips with the last meal and they were still hard in the middle, soggy on the outside, the food tastes over seasoned, too much salt and most things taste of sugar now as well. Either fried food appear not quite cooked or it is overdone. Really disappointed so switched to another takeaway which is just up the road, only been there a couple of times but the service is equally as quick, the food tastes better, the prices cheaper and the portion sizes larger.
I placed an order online on 28/08/23 which was 30 minutes before their opening time, paid, and I recieved an email that it was confirmed/accepted by the takeaway. 30 minutes later, they call to tell me it's been cancelled on their end, and I would have to pay again before they could deliver. Bearing in mind that just under £20 had already been deducted from my account, I asked them why I haven't recieved a cancellation email in that case but they had no answer. So I paid again, and they again accepted the order. I've been monitoring my bank for the last week, and can see no refund of the duplicate payment I had made. I've called them today to look into this and they were swift to process a refund which should complete in 2 working days. I've just read other reviews with similar experience, so please beware Their standards have unfortunately dropped in the last few years, and despite the increase in prices, their portions are much smaller now. It's a shame really. UPDATE The lying thieves! No refund has been returned to my bank since my call to them on 4th September! 2 working days my a ?! I am beyond fuming and disgusted with this level of service, and as a Chinese myself, I can confidently advise anyone else to avoid this poorly managed and fraudulent takeaway. We alllll know why it's cash only for in house payments, and clearly now I also know why they're happy to take card payments through their online orders when they can't see the consumer in person. See my photo of 2 different order confirmations via email, that's proof in the pudding for you. At all cost AVOID this takeaway.
Absolutely loved it. Family enjoyed the takeaway. It’s not are original go to Chinese, but it was delicious, hot and was ready to collect when time was given. The man on the phone was polite and helpful. Thankyou for a lovely dinner.
Since new people have taken over this place is not the same. The manager Tina is very rude. I placed an order and was delivered in half an hour. food was all wrong and i doubt was fresh. Chicken curry with no chicken and egg fried rice without egg. When i called Manager who tool order she said i got it wrong even though i repeated order twice back to her. She would not listen and insisted i was wrong. and said if i want chicken curry i have to pay extra. She redelivered again the correct dishes however i had to may more. chicken curry was disgusting. i would never order again from this place.
